Blogs and Blog Readers

 Blogs are online journals or informational websites where writers can share their views on particular subjects. To be completely honest, I do not normally read or follow blogs so this is a new journey for me. The great thing about blogs is that you can follow unlimited topics from around the world. If you write blogs, you can share your expertise and passions with others. 

Imagine getting all the latest news and events from all of your favorite websites, blogs, or podcasts on one dashboard. RSS Readers are web feeds that allow users to do just that! These readers allow you to organize and access many websites in one location. This web feed will display all the websites that you follow into a single dashboard, updated in real-time so that you do not need to check each site one by one.

After reading the article about the 5 best reader apps of 2021, I decided to use Inoreader. Since this was new to me, I was looking for ease and a reader that was user-friendly. I was easily able to search and subscribe to pages that interested me. Inoreader also informed me if a site was inactive and the date it was last updated which helped me decide whether or not to follow.

A few sites I have started to follow are:

Practical Ed Tech written by Richard Byrne is a great place to learn about the latest trends in technology. Practical Ed Tech provides teachers with reviews and direct instruction on how to integrate new technology.

The Trapped Librarian is a great source for all things "librarian". This blog is written by Laura, and she provides book reviews, tips for your library, and is an advocate for elementary librarians everywhere! Her goal is to "make your library the center of your school."

Librarian in the Middle is written by Sarah and she empowers school librarians to use branding and marketing skills in order to build culture, get visible, and advocate for their library.

Not So Distant Future by Carolyne Foote from Austin, Texas focuses on how technology tools can transform schools and libraries.

A Fuse #8 Production by Elizabeth Bird is a great resource for book reviews and library news.
